Goose and Gander Pizzeria

Founded in 2015 as a pop up pizzeria, the Goose and Gander is now permanent. Located in Tramore House Downings, serving woodfired pizza with a twist. Under one roof you’ll find the pizzeria, our cocktail bar – Goosetails and a traditional pub, the Old Tramore Inn.
Proprietor Chris Healy, a Carrigart native saw a need for an offering which kept high quality ingredients, as well as a social element of gathering together for good food and a warm atmosphere at its heart. Combining the cosy, historic pub with something innovative, the woodfire pizzeria with delicious and inspired toppings, has become a popular hit with locals and tourists alike. Walk ins are always welcome and there

is no need to make smaller bookings/reservations.

The Olde Glen

Glen Village is just a short drive from the seaside town of Downings and is synonymous with The Olde Glen Bar & Restaurant. Aengus Haughey is the proprietor of the bar taking over from the McLaughlin Family in 2014. The Bar is one of the oldest in the county and is well worth a visit. Its old-world character will capture your hearts as soon as you enter the premises, that dates back to 1768. The Olde Glen will be celebrating their 250th birthday in 2018 and to commemorate Aengus has developed his own signature Gin ‘Olde Glen 250’ accompanied with rhubarb and mint. It’s a hit with all Gin lovers out there so come join the party. At the rear of the bar is The Olde Glen Restaurant. Here Cormac Walsh and his team will show you the best in Donegal hospitality and Irish food, specializing in seafood, fish and daily specials on the chalkboard. You’ll be spoilt for choice! The restaurant opens at 5:30-9:00, Tuesdays- Sundays in summer months.
Next door to the bar is the newest addition to Glen Village, The Olde Glen Tea room. Here, Emma, Niamh and Sarah serve up breakfast, lunch, homemade desserts and great coffee. The food is lovingly made by the Restaurant chefs so if you cannot wait until the evening call into the girls from 10ish- 5ish 7 days a week. Join us for a unique experience in The Olde Glen.
